I became interested and involved in "mountain swing" by way of Luke Smathers (and friends and family), ultimately. I like Shape Note Singing a lot too, just not too sure if there's much of it around here so only get to do it when the rare opportunity arises. As far as my musical history it's mainly been "jamming" with friends and family at someone's house or at a festival (Shindig on the Green, Clifftop, Fiddler's Grove, etc.) and have played for some dances. Have had some teaching experience, however, with the Mars Hill Old-Time music week as a staff musician. Under the present cirucumstances, I have a great job in Columbus, GA which has brought me here (and away from WNC) and I just want to meet some Old-Time Music friends/people to jam with.
