Old-Time Music Store One-stop-shopping for independently-produced old-time CDs. David Lynch is doing a real service to the OT community, artists and listeners alike, by making these releases easily available and convenient to order. You won't find any of these "microbrew" CDs at Best Buy, Amazon, or even Elderly, so until now, you had to track these folks down, contact them, and then mail checks off to a bunch of different places -- but no longer. Now you're just a few mouse clicks away from tunes aplenty in your mailbox, thanks to David. |

CDBaby CDBaby sells only independently-released CDs. Of the $15 or so you will spend on the CD, something like $12 goes to the artist in most cases, which is really, really good. They have music from every style imaginable (and some that are unimaginable) including a lot of Old-Time releases like those from The Forge Mountain Diggers, The Hoover Uprights, The Double Decker Stringband, John Lilly & Ralph Blizard, Frank Lee, Thomas Fraser, Gary Lee Moore, Clarke Buehling & the Skirtlifters, Hog Hollar String Band, and many more... ![]() |

Instruments Good selection, good prices, great service. Also sell instruments & accessories, books, etc. The best place to order from if you need a couple CDs, some guitar strings, and a new banjo head. This place makes me want to plan my next vacation in Michigan. ![]()

County Sales These guys are great and their prices and shipping charges are low, low, low! My #1 pick for Old Time Music. Plus, they produce County Records, so there's no middleman! Check out their Buy 6, get 1 FREE offer.

Amazon.com Amazon is convenient, and has a good search engine, but they can be expensive & their "Usually ships in 24 hours" bit is a load of hooey (in my experience). Use their nifty search engine to find what you're looking for & then order it from one of the other guys! |
Amazon Popular Music Song Title Search Enter one or more keywords from the song title that interests you.

Ivy Creek Recordings Bill Morris and his wife run this label out of North Carolina. Their "Blue Ridge Mountain Music vol. 1" is one of my favorites...simple fiddle/banjo (or sometimes guitar) duets. Great soundtrack for a drive through the mountains. They also have a Carroll Best CD and lots of train-oriented stuff ![]() |
Old Hat Records This small label (also run out of NC) is not just the same old hat. These guys produce the essential (in my opinion) Music from the Lost Provinces. (What a cool name.) |

WVU Press They only have a few Old-Time releases, but they're good ones! 2 volumes of Edden Hammons and one of John Johnson from Strange Creek, WV (what a great name!) Hopefully there's more to come from this fine label! ![]() |
Burning Wolf Records Home of Betty Vornbrock and the Reed Island Rounders, this label has produced a couple of fine releases, including one of gorgeous twin fiddle duets featuring Betty Vornbrock and J.P. Fraley. ![]() |

Document Records This label, formerly of Austria, now of Scotland, puts out some of the best compilations of American Old Time and Blues music. They need our support! ![]() Document CDs are also available through many of the other retailers on this page, as well as Allegro Music. |
Rounder Mailorder Rounder has been lovingly putting out Old Time Music for close to 30 years. If you're looking for a Rounder CD, why not go to the source? ![]() |

Down Home Music Great selection. I've heard of people moving from the East Coast to El Cerrito just to be near this store! ![]() |
Roots & Rhythm Another great El Cerrito store! Is it something in the water? ![]() |
